Creating Services Products Using the Certinia Estimation Agent

You can ask the Certinia Estimation agent in an agent chat to create services products on a project estimate, individually or several at once. Enter your request in natural language and the agent completes the operation, respecting your Salesforce CRUD permissions for the Services Product object.

Note:

This feature is part of the Certinia Early Adopter Program. This program is only available to a limited number of customers. For more information, contact your Certinia Account Team.

Creating a Services Product

To create a services product:

  1. Open an agent chat and select the Certinia Estimation agent.
  2. Describe the services product you want to create. For example, enter Add a services product to the <estimate name> estimate called Cloud Migration Consulting with a cost of $30,000 and a bill amount of $50,000. You must include a services product name and a cost amount. You must also either enter a bill amount or select the Set Bill Amount Equal to Cost Amount checkbox. You can name the estimate in your request; if you do not, the agent uses the estimate from your conversation context.
  3. If the agent cannot determine any mandatory details from your message, it asks for them. Provide the missing information to continue.
  4. The agent creates the services product and confirms the outcome in the chat.
Note:

You can also set the bill amount equal to the cost by selecting the Set Bill Amount Equal to Cost Amount checkbox in your request. When you select this checkbox, the bill amount is locked and updates whenever the cost changes.

Note:

The parent estimate, currency, and Estimate Product Instance cannot be edited after a services product is created.

Creating Multiple Services Products

To create several services products in one request:

  1. Open an agent chat and select the Certinia Estimation agent.
  2. Describe the services products to create. You must include the following for each services product in your message:

    • A name for the services product
    • A cost amount for the services product
    • A bill amount for the services product, or select the Set Bill Amount Equal to Cost Amount checkbox
  3. The agent displays the full list of services products it is about to create and asks for confirmation before proceeding.
  4. Confirm to proceed. The agent creates the services products and confirms the outcome in the chat.
Example:

Add three services products to the <estimate name> estimate: Consulting with a cost of $20,000 and bill of $35,000, Training with a cost of $5,000 and bill of $10,000, and Support with a cost of $8,000 and bill of $15,000.

Note:

If you include an Estimate Product Instance when you create several services products at once, the agent links all the services products you create to the same instance.
