Moving Estimate Dates Using the Certinia Estimation Agent

You can ask the Certinia Estimation agent to move the dates on an estimate. The agent shifts the estimate's start and end dates and carries the same shift through to related records, such as line sets, tasks, estimate product instances, billing groups, role requests, and pricing modifiers, so everything stays consistent.

Moving an Estimate by a Number of Days

To move an estimate by a number of days:

1. Open an agent chat and select the Certinia Estimation agent.
2. Describe the move you want to make. For example, enter Move Canyon Ltd estimate 2 weeks later. To move an estimate earlier, state how many days earlier you want to move it, for example Move Canyon Ltd estimate 15 days earlier.
3. The agent shows you a summary of the records the move affects and the resulting start and end dates.
4. Confirm to proceed. The agent queues the move and notifies you when it finishes.

Notes:

• The agent can move an estimate only if it is neither locked nor missing a start or end date.
• If the new dates fall after the linked opportunity's close date, or the shift is unusually large, the agent warns you and asks you to confirm before proceeding.
• The dates applied can differ slightly from what you requested. For example, phases move in whole weeks, and scheduled role requests land on working days.

Moving an Estimate to a Specific Date

Instead of specifying a number of days, you can give the agent a target date and the agent calculates the offset for you.

1. Open an agent chat and select the Certinia Estimation agent.
2. Describe the move you want to make. For example, enter Start Alpha estimate on September 15.
3. The agent shows you a summary of the affected records and the resulting dates, and asks you to confirm.
4. Confirm to proceed. The agent queues the move and notifies you when it finishes.

Previewing a Move Before Committing

You can ask the agent what would change before committing to a move.

1. Open an agent chat and select the Certinia Estimation agent.
2. Describe the move you want to preview. For example, enter What would change if I moved Beta by 30 days?
3. The agent shows you the resulting dates and the affected records without making any changes.

To proceed with a previewed move, ask the agent to go ahead. To leave the estimate unchanged, ignore the preview or ask the agent to cancel.

Undoing a Move

If you need to reverse a move, you can undo it within the same chat session:

1. In the same chat session where you made the move, ask the agent to undo it. For example, enter Undo my last move on Canyon Ltd.
2. The agent shows you the reversed dates and asks you to confirm.
3. Confirm to proceed. The agent queues the reversal and confirms that it has started. The move runs in the background, so you receive a notification when it finishes.

Note:

The agent can only undo the last move you made in the current chat session. You cannot undo a move from a new chat session, or a move made by someone else.
