Updating Estimated Expenses Using the Certinia Estimation Agent

You can ask the Certinia Estimation agent in an agent chat to update estimated expenses on a project estimate, individually or several at once. Enter your request in natural language and the agent completes the operation, respecting your Salesforce CRUD permissions for the Estimated Expense object.

Updating an Estimated Expense

To update an estimated expense:

  1. Open an agent chat and select the Certinia Estimation agent.

  2. Describe the change you want to make. For example:

    • To update the amount: Change the amount on the <expense name> expense to $600
    • To update the name: Rename the <expense name> expense to <new name>
    • To update the type: Change the type on the <expense name> expense to Meals
    • To mark as non-billable: Mark the <expense name> expense as non-billable
  3. The agent updates the expense and confirms the outcome in the chat.
Note:

The parent estimate, currency, and Estimate Product Instance cannot be edited after an expense is created. If you ask the agent to change or clear the Estimate Product Instance, the agent declines and offers to help you delete the expense and create a new one with the correct link instead.

Note:

An expense amount cannot be negative. This applies when you create and when you update an expense.

Updating Multiple Estimated Expenses

To update several estimated expenses at once:

  1. Open an agent chat and select the Certinia Estimation agent.
  2. Describe the change you want to make and the expenses to target. For example, enter Mark all flight expenses over $300 on the <estimate name> estimate as non-billable.
  3. The agent identifies all matching records, displays them with their current values and the proposed change, and asks for confirmation.
  4. Confirm to apply the update. The agent updates all matching records and confirms the outcome in the chat.
