Upgrading to PSA Spring 2026

This page describes the changes to make when upgrading to Spring 2026.

Specify a Preferred Resource for Staffing

[Optional] By default, the Preferred Resource Weighting is set to Essential. This means that if the Preferred Resource filter is populated, only a resource that matches the filter value is suitable. If you do not want it to be essential, you can change the Preferred Resource Weighting to Ideal, Desirable, or Suggested by editing it in the Resource Search Service custom setting. [Optional] By default, a resource request's suggested resource is not used to populate the Preferred Resource filter. If you want to change this, select the Use Suggested Resource as Preferred checkbox in the Resource Request Settings custom setting.

[Optional] You can override the above defaults for resource requests linked to staffing preferences by :

  1. Editing the staffing preference to select or deselect the Use Suggested Resource as Preferred checkbox.
  2. Editing the resource search settings record linked to the staffing preference and selecting the appropriate weighting in the Preferred Resource Weighting field.

Increase Resource Search Precision Using Individually Weighted Custom Fields

If you have cloned the PSA - Staff Resource Requests permission set, or created your own permission sets for working with the Assign Multiple Resources to Project window, you must update them to include access to the RM_RSFieldsFilterLoadController Apex class.

The Assign Multiple Resources to Project window will not open if the user's permissions do not include this Apex class.

Ensure that administrators are assigned the following permission sets which they'll need to access the Configure Resource Search Fields page:

  • PSA - Manage Configuration
  • FDN Core - Mapping
 For more information about permission sets, see the Salesforce Help

Create resource search fields for the contact fields that you want to use as filter criteria, and configure Resourcing Match Mappings for them.

We recommend you review the following field sets and create resource search fields for those contact fields that you want to continue to use:

  • If you filter when using the Resourcing tab on a resource request, any custom filter fields will be listed in the field set specified in the Custom Filters Field Set property for the PSA Resourcing component.
  • If you filter when using the Assign Multiple Resources to Project window, any custom filter fields will be listed in the Assign Multiple Resources to Project Filter Options field set on the Contact object.
Warning:

These field sets are no longer used to identify custom fields for filtering resources on the Resourcing tab, or the Assign Multiple Resources to Project window.

 Resource Search Fields Overview

[Optional] By default all resource search fields have the same weighting which is derived from the Custom Filter Fields Weighting in the Resource Search Service custom setting (unless a resource search settings record applies). If you are using staffing preferences and resource search settings records for your resource matching processes, you can weight resource search fields individually by creating resource search field weightings.

Add the Resource Search Field Weightings related list to the page layouts you are using for the Resource Search Settings object, including the packaged layout called Resource Search Settings Layout. This will allow you to configure resource search field weightings from the resource search settings record that they relate to.

Improve Resource Matching Accuracy with Cost Rate Priority

Enter a number (1-4) in the Cost Rate Priority field in the Resource Search Service custom setting. The default order of priorities is:

  • Filter Fields
  • Skills
  • Availability

Enter 4 in the Cost Rate Priority field to set it as fourth in the order of priorities. If you enter 1, 2, or 3 you must change the number of the existing priority with that number. If the field is left blank, cost rate priority does not apply.

Note:

You can set a default value in the organization level Resource Search Service custom setting, and different values in Resource Search Service custom settings at profile or user level. If you use resource search settings records, you can also override the default value by entering a different value in the Cost Rate Priority field on the relevant resource search settings record.

Ensure that users have read permission for the following fields:

  • On the Contact object:

    • Contact Currency
    • Default Cost Rate
    • Default Cost Rate is Daily Rate
    • Work Calendar
  • The Standard Hours Per Day field on the Work Calendar object.
  • The Cost Rate Priority field on the Resource Search Settings object. This is required if you use resource search settings records.

We have introduced the following changes:

  • Dynamic actions are now enabled.

  • The following actions are now added as dynamic actions with specific visibility rules:

    • Enable Services Credits Pricing: Only visible if the Services Credits Pricing checkbox is deselected on the services deliverable record.
    • Disable Services Credits Pricing: Only visible if the Services Credits Pricing checkbox is selected on the services deliverable record.
    • Enable Monetary Pricing: Only visible if the Monetary Pricing checkbox is deselected on the services deliverable record.
    • Disable Monetary Pricing: Only visible if the Monetary Pricing checkbox is selected on the services deliverable record.
