Project Assignments Breakdown Fields

The PSA Project Assignments Breakdown is usually displayed on the Resources tab of a project record, although an administrator can configure it to be displayed elsewhere on the page.

The component contains the Project Assignments Breakdown grid. This grid provides a breakdown of the project based on assignment hours, grouped by role.The permissions required to use this component are listed in Permissions for the Project Assignments Breakdown Lightning Component.

Grid

The columns in the Project Assignments Breakdown grid are:

Name Description
Assignment Name

The assignment's name, grouped under role. You can click an assignment to navigate to its record page.

If you hover over an assignment, the following assignment fields are displayed by default: Assignment Name, Resource, End Date.

Tip:

You can customize the hover details by editing the page in the Lightning App Builder, selecting the Project Assignments Breakdown component, then selecting a field set in the Hover Details Field Set for Assignments field in the Properties panel. The fields in the selected field set are displayed in addition to the default fields. For more information, see Project Assignments Breakdown Lightning Component Properties
Requested The number of hours requested. This is derived from the resource request linked to the assignment.
Planned The assignment's planned hours.
Scheduled The assignment's scheduled hours.
Delivered

The number of hours that have been linked to the assignment via timecards with the status Submitted or Approved. You can include hours from timecards with other statuses by editing the Timecard Statuses - Hours field in the Project Financials Settings custom setting.
Variance from Plan The difference between the assignment's planned hours and the number of delivered hours. The formula used by this column is: Planned - Delivered
Estimate to Completion

The assignment's estimated hours to completion. This is the value in the Estimated Time To Completion field on the assignment.

Up/down arrows indicate if the value in this column is higher or lower than the value in the Variance from Plan column.
Estimate at Completion

The number of hours expected to be logged for the assignment by the time it completes. The formula used by this column is: Delivered + Estimate to Completion

Up/down arrows indicate if the value in this column is higher or lower than the value in the Planned column.

Toolbar

The toolbar above the Project Assignments Breakdown grid contains:

Field/Button Description
Search Enter a search string then press Enter or Tab to find rows where the Assignment Name column contains the search string. The search is case-insensitive.
Reload Refreshes the grid.
Collapse All Collapses all rows in the grid so that only roles are visible.
Expand All Expands all rows in the grid so that both roles and assignments are visible.
Displays information about how to work with columns in the grid. You hide or show individual columns, and use drag and drop to reorder them.
